This programme aims to present physical activity and sport as an increasingly important aspect of Irish culture and to highlight the value it can have for Irish society.
The degree programme is unique in that it takes both scientific and humanistic approaches to physical education and sport and provides a rich foundation for teaching, coaching and health. The typical applicant will have a proven interest in a physical education teaching pathway and a background in sport or physical activity participation

Year 1: Exercise Science; Skill Development and Application; Health; Education Coaching Placement plus one subject from: English, French, Gaeilge/Irish, History, Mathematical Studies
Year 2: Exercise Science; Skill Development and Application; Physical Education Pedagogy; Education; School Placement; plus one subject continued from Year One
Year 3: Exercise Science; Skill Development and Application; Major Study (Health and Wellness OR Coaching Science or Comparative Education); Education; School Placement; Sport or Community Placement; plus the same subject continued from Year Two
Year 4: Exercise Science; Skill Development and Application; Education; School Placement
